Taking a break

I don't suppose anyone didn't expect this, but after doing the last edits, I got busy with more important matters, then I got sick and bored. Then I started working on a little private project that has no relation to fansubs, which I care lots more about (and have exponentially greater amounts of fun doing) than looking for grammatical / spelling errors in scripts. So in short, I'm going to take a break from script editing unless I find any mistakes that are bloody obvious that need to be fixed and the group that released it doesn't seem to care to release their own fix.

And no, this isn't an April Fools joke for those expecting some sort of punch line or something.

[gg] Baka to Test to Shokanju - 08

I apologize for the error that my admittedly rushed patch caused. Adding the "not" to the sentence completely turned the meaning to the opposite of what it was supposed to be (which it had originally). This is a patch for episode 8 alone, but it requires that you have already used the patch released before. I have included a deletion command to get rid of the previous v2 file after the patch is applied.

UPDATE:

Sorry about the high rate of brain farts this week. One thing seems to keep leading to the next. Please STOP seeding the torrent.

I've changed the xdelta line to the proper file name and changed quiet mode to prompt for viewers to ensure that the file has indeed been patched before the file is deleted. For now, it will only be available on MediaFire since I'm not at home (and thus have no control over the torrent since I can't use Remote Desktop from my location). I'm really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

[gg] Baka to Test to Shokanju - 05-09

Not a whole lot of edits done in these episodes, but here's the list anyways:

Episode 5:
- No changes made (no patch included)

Episode 6:
- Changed "to tell the truth" to "to be honest" (I was thinking about changing it to "to tell you the truth", but "to be honest" is more concise)
- Small edits (some added commas, capitalization)

Episode 7:
- Added an extra i in "crusin'" since the full word is "cruising"
- Some other small edits (added a few commas here and there)

Episode 8:
- Removed "your" from "This is your payback for always being a bitch to me!"
- Added a "not" to "Well, your Being's the only one that's acting up." since his is the only one without a problem (not the other way around)
- Changed "bruteforce" to "brute force" and modified the line for proper usage (brute force is two words and cannot be used as a verb as far as I'm aware -- feel free to correct me on this if I'm wrong)

Expect patches for episodes 1 through 4 in the next few days or so (if any changes are actually made).

[gg] Baka to Test to Shokanju - 09

Just a couple of small edits to fix the missing letters in some lines. In particular, "You" was changed to "Your" in "You grades are worse than I thought.", and "hairstye" was changed to "hairstyle" in "Himeji, you changed your hairstye?"

Patching Instructions

I suppose I should've included a readme or something with the file (I'll do that in the future), but using the patches should be pretty easy to understand. Basically, just make sure that the original MKVs are present in the same folder with their original file names (i.e. with the underscores, original CRC, etc.), then just run the respective .BAT file.

I didn't bother adding any error checking, since I figured it should be easy enough to use without it.

If you removed the underscores (like me) or took out the CRC, you can just open the .BAT file with Notepad and change the first entry to the name you gave it.

[Fubuki] Sora no Woto 01-09

The other members of Illusion Subs may be gone, but that doesn't mean that the name has to go too. I'm sure everyone feels the same way, but while watching anime, I've noticed that sometimes it doesn't matter how long a group works on an episode (whether it be less than a day or a full week and then some), there's always bound to be mistakes. I've decided to come back to fansubbing to provide corrections for these errors, but as anyone can guess, I'll only be doing this for series (and groups) that I'm actually watching. In other words, I'm not taking any requests.

Some of the common errors that I ran across while watching Fubuki's version of Sora no Woto were the use of the word "due" to mean "because", and the placement of a comma after such words as "but" (an error that even I used to make often). Other corrections made include changes in word choice, the removal of other commas that I felt were unnecessary, an attempt to keep some sense of consistency (e.g. using Yumina-oneechan instead of Yumina onee-chan) and changing the spelling of characters' names to fit the spellings shown in later episodes (i.e. changing Felicia to Filicia in the early episodes and Iria to Iliya in episode 6).

Apologies to anyone who had trouble with the website links on Nyaatorrents and TokyoTosho. I haven't used them before, so I will correct that next time.
